Hello! Project Song Associations – A Few Extra Notes

June 20, 2016

Here are some more random things I associate with H!P songs.

Mano Erina – “10 Carat no Kirameki.”
This association is actually pretty strong, so I don’t know why I forgot to include it in this video. Last year, I made an original choreography for this song. Around that same time, I was watching the first season of Daredevil on Netflix. For whatever reason, this song reminds me of not only that show, but very specifically the character Wilson Fisk. Actually, I strongly associate that show/character with ONE move from the dance. I call it the “Kingpin” move, even though it makes absolutely NO sense. XD

Morning Musume – “The Peace!”
This makes me think of how I first found out about Morning Musume. I had been really into music by Gackt, and he had appeared on a show at the same time as Morning Musume when they were promoting “The Peace!” There was a little skit that had Gackt and Kago Ai on a “date.” I didn’t watch it for the longest time because I didn’t realize it was a joke, and I didn’t care about who Gackt was dating; I just wanted to watch music videos or funny clips. XD Once I finally watched the clip though, I remember thinking, “Who are all of those girls?” and once I searched Kago Ai on Google, I learned about Morning Musume~.

Morning Musume – “Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari”
This was the first Morning Musume music video I ever saw (at least I think it was… it might have been “Kanashimi Twlight” or “Happy Summer Wedding,” but this is the one I always credit as the first one I saw XD).

And here’s a small selection of songs that are super-nostalgic for me because they remind me of when I first started listening to H!P:
Morning Musume – Bon kyu! Bon kyu! BOMB Girl
Morning Musume – Love & Peace! Hero ga Yattekita.
Morning Musume – Densha no Futari
Morning Musume – Ii Koto Aru Kinen no Shunkan
Morning Musume – Suki na Senpai
Morning Musume – Kotatsu no Uta ~jyuken story~
Morning Musume – Dokusenyoku
Morning Musume – Lemon Iro to Milk Tea
Morning Musume – Sukiyaki
Morning Musume – HELP!!
Morning Musume – TOP!
Morning Musume – Suggoi Nakama
Morning Musume – HEY! Mirai
Morning Musume – Shanimuni Paradise
Morning Musume – Genki+
Berryz Koubou – Munasawagi Scarlet
Berryz Koubou – Sprinter!
Berryz Koubou – Passion E-CHA E-CHA
Berryz Koubou – Yume de Do Up
°C-ute – LALALA Shiawase no Uta
Matsuura Aya – Ne~e?
Goto Maki – Uwasa na SEXY GUY

Plus the summer shuffle songs and a handful of songs from Tanpopo, Pucchimoni, and Minimoni. Oh, and also “Sakura Mankai.” (As a side note, I didn’t really get into Berryz or °C-ute until about three or four months into learning about H!P; I stuck mostly with Morning Musume and their old subgroups. (^_^”)>)

Ahhh~, even just writing the names of the songs makes me nostalgic! ^__^

Thanks for watching and reading~!

Hello! Project Music 2010 – Part 4: Buono! and Miscellaneous Groups

December 31, 2010

Buono!‘s first (and last) A-side for 2010, “Our Songs,” which is fun and very much Buono!’s style, was coupled with “MIRACLE HAPPY LOVE SONG,” which has a really catchy chorus. =)
We Are Buono!, their third album, included eight new songs. Most of them followed Buono!’s upbeat pop-rock style, but a few slower songs were also present.

My Favorite Buono! Tracks for 2010: Our Songs, Independent Girl ~ Dokuritsu Joshi de Aru Tame ni, Urahara, Kataomoi., Koucha no Oishii Mise

Honorable Mentions: MIRACLE HAPPY LOVE SONG, One Way = My Way, We are Buono! ~ Buono! no Theme

Hello! Project artists had a few miscellaneous releases this year as well. Guardians 4 put out their final single, “Going On!,” with the coupling track “Arigatou ~Ookiku Kansha!~” by Shugo Chara Egg!. The unit Lilpri released two singles, “Little♡Princess☆Pri!” (with coupling track “Happy Go Lucky☆Pri!”) and “Idoruru” (with coupling track “Vira Vira Virou!”). Oha Girl maple with S/mileage released the single “My・School・March,” which had a very impressive PV. The coupling track is “Morning Chime!!” Sugaya Risako (or Himuro Ibu) also released the song “Elegant Girl.”

My Favorite Miscellaneous Tracks for 2010: Going On!, Idoruru, My・School・March

Honorable Mentions: Little♡Princess☆Pri!, Happy Go Lucky☆Pri!, Elegant Girl

Aaand… that about does it for these~! I have one small post left; I’ll be posting it immediately after I post this one. ^_^

Guardians 4 Rankings Results

December 18, 2010

And now the final results~! (Which aren’t really a surprise…)

4. Going On! (12 points) – Well, I can’t say I didn’t expect this one to be last. (^_^”)> It is very much a… “Guardians 4-like” release, but something about it just didn’t have the same charm as the others. … I still love the single cover, though!

3. Omakase♪Guardian (16 points) – The sentimental value of the song and the amazing coupling track helped make up for the unimpressive PV. Ah, I remember when this group was announced… “Oh look, another Shugo Chara! group. (-_-”)” But, with the release of this song, I actually hoped they would do more. =)

2. School Days (20 points) – This almost surprised me, considering the fact that I hardly listened to this song at all until a few months ago. This was a very solid single, especially for what I consider the main parts (A-side, coupling track, and PV). ^__^

1. PARTY TIME (22 points) – Yeah, I knew this one would get first. XD This is definitely my favorite Guardians 4 song of all. ❤ If it wasn’t for the coupling track, it would have gotten first or second in all of the rankings.

And that’s all! Sorry for the long wait between posts to anyone who has been waiting for these (or any post at all, really). m(_ _)m

Guardians 4 Ranking – Part 7: Sentimental Value

December 18, 2010

The final ranking~!

4. Going On!
– To be fair, this came out when my computer was still dead, but, to be honest, I still don’t think I would have paid as much attention to this one anyway. =/ This is a great song with a cute PV, but it just doesn’t hold as sentimental value as the others for me.

3. School Days
– I listened to this song in passing, and I watched the PV a couple of times (and I’ve always loved it), but I just didn’t revisit it much. I didn’t realize how much I really liked the song until I started learning the dance. =)

2. PARTY TIME
– As I said before, I was completely hooked from the first preview I heard; it seemed like forever before the PV came out, but, when it did I watched it… oh, a few times. XD The song was constantly stuck in my head.

1. Omakase♪Guardian
– This song came out around the time I graduated, so that’s one of the things I associate with it. I also listened to it a lot when I played through Final Fantasy VII for the first time, so it reminds me of that, too. =D There are just some great memories that go with this song. ^_^

The results after the seventh ranking:

4. Going On! (12 points)
3. Omakase♪Guardian (16 points)
2. School Days (20 points)
1. PARTY TIME (22 points)

It has been determined! Only one Guardians 4 ranking post left…

Guardians 4 Ranking – Part 6: Dances

December 17, 2010

And now to rank the dances~…

4. Omakase♪Guardian
– As with all of the Guardians 4 dances, it’s cute. It seems a bit bland, though, compared to the other ones, though I do like the dance break. =)

3. Going On!
– This is another good dance; it’s more interesting than the one for “Omakase♪Guardian,” but it still can’t compete with the other two. I really like the dance that goes with the chorus. =D I like dancing along with this, especially with the part where Nakki and Risako turn around and move back and forth while Mittsi and Yurina stay facing forward.

2. School Days
– It pains me to put this in second, because I love it so much. T_T The footwork during the chorus is awesome~. ❤ The dance fits in very well with the school theme. I also love when they’re all standing in a line and doing moves one by one.

1. PARTY TIME
– It’s so much fun~~! This was one of those dances that I wanted to do since I first saw it. My favorite moves are the ones they do during Yurina’s solo lines. The arm spinning during the “pa pa ya pa pa pa pia” lines is great… though, now that I think about it, it reminds me of the dance for “SEXY BOY ~Soyokaze ni Yorisotte~.”

The results after the sixth ranking:

4. Going On! (11 points)
3. Omakase♪Guardian (12 points)
2. School Days (18 points)
1. PARTY TIME (19 points)

I don’t know if the fact that I actually learned all of these dances helps or hurts the rankings for any of these… (^_^”)

Guardians 4 Ranking – Part 5: Outfits

December 17, 2010

This is going to be a short ranking, because the outfits are so very similar.

4. Going On!
– Yellow with… red? Couldn’t they have had a lighter yellow…? That may have actually upped its ranking for me…

3. Omakase♪Guardian
– I actually really like these… maybe it’s just that the white lines stand out a little too much, and the darker squares look a little… hmm, I don’t know. =/

2. PARTY TIME
– I love how the different shades of green blend together in these outfits~! =D The only reason it’s in second place is because I personally like brighter shades of green, though this minty color is nice.

1. School Days
– The blue is so bright! YAY~! If you’ve read any of opinions on different outfits, you already know that I love bright colors, and these definitely are bright. ^__^ Plus, I just think the bright blue plaid is a good contrast with the solid black and white. =D

The results after the fifth ranking:

4. Going On! (9 points)
3. Omakase♪Guardian (11 points)
2. and 1. School Days (15 points) and PARTY TIME (15 points)

Whoa~~, “School Days” and “PARTY TIME” are now neck and neck! At first, I was going to make it a tie between those two for this ranking. To be clear, I love the look of all of the outfits in general. ^_^

Guardians 4 Ranking – Part 4: PVs

December 2, 2010

Wow, it took me long enough to get this posted. (^_^”)> Sorry~.

4. Omakase♪Guardian
– There just wasn’t much going on in this PV. They were cheering… and that was about it. I did like the sign flipping though… and the confetti was fun, just because it was confetti. =D

3. Going On!
– The video “staff” was… certainly different. I had to laugh at the lion keeping time with the music “behind the scenes.” XD The parts with the four of them singing around the microphone reminded me of the PV for “Ganbacchae!” The scene during the instrumental break was also kind of funny. I liked Nakki’s “I don’t want it!” face. XDD

2. PARTY TIME
– My love for this video is easily described in a few words: Outdoors! Decorations! BUBBLES!!! It’s just fun watching them play around with the bubbles. =D

1. School Days
– I LOVE the settings~! Even the cheesy little hedge maze (which I kind of want now)~. XD I also like how they had all of the different tea sets, too. I laughed at their reaction to Yurina’s tea setting (and tea). XDD

The results after the fourth ranking:

4. Going On! (8 points)
3. Omakase♪Guardian (9 points)
2. School Days (11 points)
1. PARTY TIME (12 points)

And “Going On!” maintains its #4 spot. (^_^”)

Guardians 4 Ranking – Part 3: RE Single Covers

November 6, 2010

This ranking is for the regular edition CD covers of Guardians 4’s singles.

4. Omakase♪Guardian
– There’s nothing wrong with this cover; it looks quite nice with the sparkles and red uniforms, but there’s nothing else going on (ahaha, unintentional Guardians 4 humor XD).

3. School Days
– I really love how bright all of the colors are, and I’m actually kind of fond of the cutout look. My biggest problem with this cover is, again, they’re not really doing anything.

2. PARTY TIME
– The green uniforms and light pink balloons go pretty well together, and at least they’re holding something in this. The colors of the present, flowers, etc. fit the overall look of the cover, too.

1. Going On!
– I love this cover! All of the outing-related things (a basket, bike, binoculars, thermos, and a hydrant, mail box, and sign for some scenery… or something XD) are much more interesting than the other covers… and it has so many bright colors~~! =D

The results after the third ranking:

4. Going On! (6 points)
3. School Days (7 points)
2. Omakase♪Guardian (8 points)
1. PARTY TIME (9 points)

“Going On!” is still last, and “PARTY TIME” is back in first. Hmm…

Guardians 4 Ranking – Part 2: Coupling Tracks

November 4, 2010

I wrote these from first place to last, so if I mention things in a weird order, that’s why. XD

4. Arigatou ~Ookiku Kansha!~ (Going On!)
– I like the clapping, but the change in page at the end of each verse seems a bit awkward. Tanabe Nanami sounds pretty good…

3. Watashi no Tamago (PARTY TIME)
– This song is kind of cute, but I don’t know how I feel about Maeda Irori‘s voice. =/ Fukumura Mizuki and Akari sound good, though. =D And the chorus is fun!

2. Itsuka Dokoka de. (School Days)
– This is a pretty song, and it’s really easy to sing along with. The lyrics are so cute, too. ^_^ I bet this would have made an adorable PV.

1. Summer Has Come! (Omakase♪Guardian)
– This sounds so much like a Buono! song, which means it’s amazing~. =D The chorus is especially catchy. I don’t know what else to say, except that I love it!

The results after the second ranking:

4. Going On! (2 points)
3. School Days (5 points)
2. PARTY TIME (6 points)
1. Omakase♪Guardian (7 points)

WHOA, “Omakase♪Guardian” pulls into first! I wonder how long that will last…

~*★*~ Happy Halloween~! ~*★*~

October 31, 2010

Happy Halloween~! Wow, I’m cutting it close. XD

I just thought I’d say I didn’t forget about the Guardians 4 rankings! I’ll have at least two more up sometime this week. ^_^ Well then… bye. (^_^”)>
