♥ °C-ute: Goodbye and Thank You ♥

June 14, 2017

Thank You C-ute

I’ve mentioned it a few times before, but, of the “big” groups that were around when I first started listening to H!P (Morning Musume, Berryz Koubou, and °C-ute), °C-ute was the one that I listened to the least. I don’t know why; maybe it was because °C-ute was still fairly new when I first started listening (as far as their major debut), so I didn’t have as much music to go through (not quite accurate, though; I never listened to any of their earliest album tracks (^_^”)).

Even so… °C-ute’s disbandment made me sad. I had had the day off from work, so I was constantly checking for updates on Twitter and other sites. When I started seeing pictures from other H!P/former H!P members on Instagram, I figured it was all done. I liked every single picture, even if they looked exactly the same (like some of the shots of the arena with all the glow sticks lit up). I almost cried when I saw the picture of all the kids (minus Risako; I probably would have cried if she had been there). Seeing Megumi, Erika, Kanna, and Maiha (sort of) with the others really made it seem like the end.

Another thing I had said that would make it truly real to me would be to see °C-ute under the “Past Groups” category for lyrics on projecthello.com. Well, that’s where they are now, along with Buono!

If that wasn’t bad enough, I watched the footage from their last concert on today’s Hello! Station. When the clock hit 9:10 pm, it did actually make me cry. Then they had to go and show all the members crying. Besides the other four sobbing, Maimi‘s teary-eyed smile made me cry even more, because I just got this “Ah~, what a good time we’ve had” feeling from that look. TT__TT

So °C-ute… goodbye… and thank you~!

Top 11 °C-ute A-Sides – A Few Extra Notes

May 22, 2017

This basically turned into another round of No Thinking! because I was ready to add half of the singles that I didn’t mention to the Honorable Mentions category. XD

Tokaikko Junjou – This has the honor of being the song that has the strongest association with something else (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Tacos at Midnight Doritos) which makes it super-memorable for me. Plus it’s just great. =D
LALALA Shiawase no Uta – I’m 98.7% sure this was my first °C-ute song. I actually remember bringing my laptop into the living room late at night (not long after the song came out) and playing it for my mom because I had liked it so much; it makes me so happy! I think one of the reasons it didn’t make it on the Top 11 list is because the “la la la”s at the end went on for so long… (^_^”)
The Power – I think I’ve seen a few other people mention the fact that this sounded more like a song Berryz Koubou would sing. Maybe that’s why I found it so catchy coming from °C-ute. XD
I miss you – LAYERED VOCALS~!!! ♥♥♥♥♥
Ai wa Marude Seidenki – Adorable video and fun chorus~! =)
Namida no Iro – Super-catchy and I love the Latin sound! ^_^

As little as I listened to °C-ute compared to the other groups, making this video made me realize just how much I love all of their singles. =D … I’m really going to miss them. orz After they’re gone, Momo will be the only one left from the groups that were around when I first started listening… and she’s leaving, too! TT__TT AYACHO, DON’T YOU LEAVE ME ANY TIME SOON! orz

This Blog is Not Dead! – An Update

May 8, 2017

… Well, at least, I haven’t given up on it. It’s pretty dead as far as views. XD orz It’s just that most of my time is spent learning H!P dances instead of writing about H!P stuff. (^_^”) I’d like to start writing on here more, though. I have a few more H!P Vlogs planned, but, after those, if I want to talk about something H!P-related, I’ll just make a blog post on here~. That’s totally fine with me; I like adding pictures and changing fonts colors and stuff. XD Anyway, this is supposed to be an update post, so let’s get on with the updating!

Like I said, I’d like to do a few more H!P Vlogs for my channel. I’ve decided on two of them for sure: No Thinking! – Favorite °C-ute A-Sides, and Great H!P Memories. The third one I’m still trying to decide which one to do. I have a lot of things that I’d like to talk/write about, so I’m trying to figure out which would be best for a video. I might do something like my dream setlist for a Hello! Project concert (or just a Morning Musume concert). That might be a fun one for a video. Oh, now that I think about it, I wonder if I should do one about the fact that everyone who was in H!P when I first started listening (not counting Eggs) will be gone by July? T__T … So that’s what’s coming as far as H!P Vlogs.

As for other updates to this blog… first of all, I’d like to make some new banners. XD I still love Berryz Koubou, but I think I’ve had those banners since they went on indefinite hiatus. O_O And some posts I’d like to do eventually include more No Thinking! lists (lots, probably XD), and some best and worst (or favorite and least-favorite) discussions. I’ll probably do dream setlist posts, too~. =D

Well, these are just tentative plans, but I hope they work out! Even though I get next to no views on this blog, it’s fun to just write about something I love~. If someone else happens along and decides to read my posts, all the better~!

H!P Vlogs: Favorite H!P Songs of 2016 – Extra Notes

December 30, 2016

I just wanted to talk about a few big things that happened in Hello! Project this year besides the music releases, namely graduations and graduation announcements.

Graduations This Year: Suzuki Kanon (Morning Musume ’16), Tamura Meimi (ANGERME), Inaba Manaka (Country Girls)

I’ve been a big fan of Zukki since she joined, so I was sad to see her go, but I felt she had been wasted in the group for a long time (I didn’t feel that bringing her out long enough to make fun of her “chubby” character counted as using her, even though she seemed to take it in stride). I was happy to see that she got a fairly prominent part in “Utakata Saturday Night!,” but the other two songs on her graduation single were sorely lacking her presence. I especially hoped that she would have gotten a more prominent line for “The Vision.” Anyway, while I was sad to see her go, she had had a fairly good run in the group, and she had already decided on something else to work toward outside of entertainment, so I wasn’t quite as broken up as I thought I would be.

As for Meimei, I wasn’t a huge fan of her when she first joined the group. She might have actually been my least favorite because she was just SO in-your-face. In the past couple of years, though, I grew to really appreciate her powerful vocals, and she seemed like a fun and funny person, so she slowly climbed up my ANGERME ranking. It’s too bad it took me so long to become a fan of her. orz

Manakan’s graduation hit me the hardest, I think. It was without ceremony, and it was due to her illness, so I felt that she had been cheated out of a very successful future. I’m not saying that I wanted her to continue performing despite her illness; I’m just sad that she didn’t have more time to show off just what an amazing performer she is. Dynamic dancing, adorable singing voice, super-cute look… one of my favorites in H!P overall in the year or so leading up to her graduation. I sincerely hope her health improves, even if she doesn’t continue performing.

Graduation Announcements: °C-ute, Tsugunaga Momoko

The graduation announcements for the rest of the H!P Kids were definitely expected… and yet I was still shocked and dismayed. °C-ute has never been my favorite H!P group, but I’ve always liked them (and Airi is one of my all-time favorite H!P members), so I was sad to hear about them disbanding. It made me feel kind of lonely, because I knew they were the last group that had been around when I first started listening to H!P (not counting MM because all of the members are different from when I started listening). After it was announced, I remember thinking, “Well, at least Momo will still be around…”

… And then her graduation was announced. orz Again, I KNEW it had to be coming soon, but I was rather upset anyway. I’ll probably talk about this more when she actually graduates, but when I first started getting into H!P music and video clips, Momo was my least favorite member in all of H!P. Fast-forward to now where she’s one of my top five favorite members and I have more respect for her than possibly any other current member of H!P. I hope June doesn’t come too quickly… TT_TT

Ayacho… you’re all that’s left… Please don’t leave yet! orz

I have some other general thoughts about the direction H!P is going… but maybe I’ll save that for another vlog/blog. ^_~

Least Played A-Side Songs – A Few Extra Notes

November 15, 2016

Here are some other songs that I don’t listen to too much. (I tried not to include songs that I don’t listen to much right now due to overplaying them at an earlier time. (^_^”))

Morning Musume。 – Ambitious! Yashinteki de Ii jan, Mikaeri Bijin, Ima Koko Kara
– “Ambitious!” is mostly due to my dislike for their outfits in the music video (which is a terrible reason, I know). It’s a great song, but I always think of those ugly yellow-and-black dresses when I hear it. =/
– The other two are due to their lack of an iTunes release (in the US, at least). I have the physical copy of the single that includes “Ima Koko Kara,” but, by the time I got it, I had already gotten used to forgetting about that song. (Again, terrible, I know.)

°C-ute – Sakura Chirari, EVERYDAY Zekkouchou!!, Kanashiki Amefuri, Ai tte Motto Zanshin, Arigatou ~Mugen no Yell~
– I don’t know what it is about “Sakura Chirari.” I know how it goes and I enjoy it well enough, I just don’t actively seek it out to listen to it. The same goes for “EVERYDAY Zekkouchou!!” (which I actually really enjoy).
– The next two on the list were actually just quick-picks from that general grouping of singles; I didn’t have a ton of interest in °C-ute from around “Aitai Aitai Aitai na” to about “The Power” (which is funny, because I realized that I actually love “Kokoro no Sakebi wo Uta ni Shite Mita” after giving it a chance.)
– “Arigatou” just sort of bored me when I first heard it. =/ I’m sure I’ll like it more eventually.

ANGERME (S/mileage) – Tachiagaaru, Gashin Shoutan, Desugita Kui wa Utarenai, Watashi
– “Tachiagaaru” is on there just because I don’t remember listening to it much when it first came out, and I haven’t listened to it too much since. I do know (and like) the melody, though.
– The other three songs suffer from being part of a single that has A-sides that I enjoy more. *shrugs*

Juice=Juice – Wonderful World, Ça va ? Ça va ?
– I like the songs, but this was just sort of a bland release for me. orz

Berryz Koubou – Fighting Pose wa Date ja Nai!, Koi no Jubaku, Golden Chinatown, Otona na no yo!
– “Fighting Pose” is cute, but it’s definitely a ‘once in a while’ kind of song for me.
– I actually really like “Koi no Jubaku,” but I forget about it a lot because it didn’t have a dance shot version. (^_^”)
– The last two songs I listed just didn’t leave a huge impression on me.

So, those are my other rarely-played A-sides. I almost feel like I should listen to all of them right now just to be fair.

That’s all for this one~!

Top 10 Berryz Koubou A-Sides – A Few Extra Notes

October 18, 2016

This top ten list was a little easier than the one I made for my favorite Morning Musume。  A-sides. I mentioned two of these in the video, but here are more Berryz Koubou A-sides that I really, really love.

Special Generation (Like I said, this is THE Berryz song)
Watashi no Mirai no Danna-sama (I love the echoed lines)
Tomodachi wa Tomodachi Nanda! (The fast lyrics are awesome in this one, too!)
Maji Bomber!! (Sooo muuuch fuuuuunnnnn~!!)
Towa no Uta (URGH, so many feelings and memories with this song! orz T_T =D)

If given the chance, I’d probably list ten to fifteen more songs… XD Like I said, though, this one was a bit easier for me. I think I’m going to wait a while for the next No Thinking! vlog because I’d like to do °C-ute A-sides. They have a new single coming out in a of couple weeks, and I think they’ll probably have one more after that, so we’ll see. … If I don’t feel like waiting, I might move on to coupling tracks or album tracks. Anyway… that’s all for this one~! =)

Top 10 Morning Musume。 A-Sides – A Few Extra Notes

August 15, 2016

Top five/ten/whatever lists are nearly impossible for me, because I can find something good about almost every H!P song, so I had to make my top ten list of Morning Musume。‘s A-sides without giving myself a chance to really think about my choices. You can see that list in the above video. Once I finished this and waited for a while (the video was filmed two weeks ago, and the list was initially written two weeks before that), I let myself think about it a little bit. Here are five more A-sides that I realized I really love.

Memory Seishun no Hikari (Great harmonies and pretty in a haunting sort of way)
Help me! (Super-high nostalgia factor and really catchy)
Ima Sugu Tobikomu Yuuki (Absolutely love the lyrics and the strings)
Tsumetai Kaze to Kataomoi (Really loving singing along with this lately)
The Vision (JUST EVERYTHING ♥)

You might notice that, in both my top ten list and the additional five, I have quite a few more recent songs (ones released in the past five years or so). I think it’s because I haven’t had as much time to listen to them waaaaay too many times like I have with older songs. XD Another problem I noticed that I have is that, whenever I do a dance cover for a song, I tend to not listen to that song for quite a while after I finish the dance. That’s probably because I have to listen to the song a TON while I’m learning the dance, so I get a bit tired of it. (^_^”) (This is the case with songs like “Password is 0” and “The Peace!,” both of which I’ve danced to in the last year; “Utakata Saturday Night!” is still okay for now. XD) Who knows? In another year, I might have a completely different list! XD (^_^”) orz

Hello! Project Song Associations – A Few Extra Notes

June 20, 2016

Here are some more random things I associate with H!P songs.

Mano Erina – “10 Carat no Kirameki.”
This association is actually pretty strong, so I don’t know why I forgot to include it in this video. Last year, I made an original choreography for this song. Around that same time, I was watching the first season of Daredevil on Netflix. For whatever reason, this song reminds me of not only that show, but very specifically the character Wilson Fisk. Actually, I strongly associate that show/character with ONE move from the dance. I call it the “Kingpin” move, even though it makes absolutely NO sense. XD

Morning Musume – “The Peace!”
This makes me think of how I first found out about Morning Musume. I had been really into music by Gackt, and he had appeared on a show at the same time as Morning Musume when they were promoting “The Peace!” There was a little skit that had Gackt and Kago Ai on a “date.” I didn’t watch it for the longest time because I didn’t realize it was a joke, and I didn’t care about who Gackt was dating; I just wanted to watch music videos or funny clips. XD Once I finally watched the clip though, I remember thinking, “Who are all of those girls?” and once I searched Kago Ai on Google, I learned about Morning Musume~.

Morning Musume – “Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari”
This was the first Morning Musume music video I ever saw (at least I think it was… it might have been “Kanashimi Twlight” or “Happy Summer Wedding,” but this is the one I always credit as the first one I saw XD).

And here’s a small selection of songs that are super-nostalgic for me because they remind me of when I first started listening to H!P:
Morning Musume – Bon kyu! Bon kyu! BOMB Girl
Morning Musume – Love & Peace! Hero ga Yattekita.
Morning Musume – Densha no Futari
Morning Musume – Ii Koto Aru Kinen no Shunkan
Morning Musume – Suki na Senpai
Morning Musume – Kotatsu no Uta ~jyuken story~
Morning Musume – Dokusenyoku
Morning Musume – Lemon Iro to Milk Tea
Morning Musume – Sukiyaki
Morning Musume – HELP!!
Morning Musume – TOP!
Morning Musume – Suggoi Nakama
Morning Musume – HEY! Mirai
Morning Musume – Shanimuni Paradise
Morning Musume – Genki+
Berryz Koubou – Munasawagi Scarlet
Berryz Koubou – Sprinter!
Berryz Koubou – Passion E-CHA E-CHA
Berryz Koubou – Yume de Do Up
°C-ute – LALALA Shiawase no Uta
Matsuura Aya – Ne~e?
Goto Maki – Uwasa na SEXY GUY

Plus the summer shuffle songs and a handful of songs from Tanpopo, Pucchimoni, and Minimoni. Oh, and also “Sakura Mankai.” (As a side note, I didn’t really get into Berryz or °C-ute until about three or four months into learning about H!P; I stuck mostly with Morning Musume and their old subgroups. (^_^”)>)

Ahhh~, even just writing the names of the songs makes me nostalgic! ^__^

Thanks for watching and reading~!

Suzuki Kanon Graduates

May 31, 2016

It totally doesn’t feel like Zukki has graduated. Seriously. I think it might be because, when Riho graduated, I was mainly focusing on my dancing and videos, so H!P was at the forefront of my thoughts. Now, I’m back to work, and I have potential surgery and other expenses to worry about, so the day arrived in the blink of an eye without my thinking about it too much. It’s going to be super-weird to see the group without Zukki. Even though she was pretty much always in the back, you could always spot her million-watt smile. I also still maintain that she had a great singing voice, and they should have used her more often. Do you remember her singing when Morning Musume performed Berryz Koubou‘s “1-Oku 3-Senman Sou Dietto Oukoku” in 2014? SO great!

I remember sending in a picture for the birthday book that was made for her by fans. I was dressed up in my one of my “One・Two・Three” dance cover outfits (Zukki’s, obviously), and I had a sign with a birthday message and green butterflies on it (green because it was (WAS! *sob*) her color, and butterflies because remember her insect impressions early on?). In fact, I still have that picture. Let’s rewind to 2012!

Zukki Appreciation Project Picture

How nostalgic~. Also, I am glad that she got a big speaking part in one of the A-sides on her last single (along with a couple of solo singing lines), but I do sort of wish she would have gotten a little more focus in “The Vision” because it’s such a pretty, very graduation-sounding song. Though “Utakata Saturday Night!” really fits Zukki’s personality, doesn’t it? Bright colors, lots of fun being had with dashes of cute, cool, and mature thrown in, too. (Also, I just watched a clip covering her graduation and, oh my goodness, she sang “Never Forget” for her solo song. TT____TT And they sang “Ai Araba IT’S ALL RIGHT,” too! TT____TT)

Ahh~… I’m going to miss her.

Congratulations, Zukki~!

Zukki! Congratulations on your graduation! All the best for your future~! ♥♥♥♥♥
